Finally reached the Euro Velo 6

Delighted – I am delighted to have finally reached the Euro Velo 6 – Now Cycling is easy, just follow the EV6 sign and cruise along rivers and canals. Today I will be heading towards Besancon getting a little closer to the Atlantic every day now.

Finding nice places to stay the night is still a bit of a challenge. I ended up in “Hotel de France” a beautiful old Villa and I am sure it has seen glamorous times. Happy people, girls chatting in the rose-garden, men gathering for “secret” meetings in the Salon discussing “serious” matters, children laughter and parties. You can feel it when you enter the house. Today it is a hotel run by an ageless Madame. Morbid Charm – To top it I had a nightly visitor. A little bat had found it’s way through the wide-open window and could not scene it’s way out again. It circulated for about an hour in the room until it finally escaped. I am not sure who a-was more happy about it the bat or me.
